Used this seat from birth to now (my son is 11 months). When he was born he weighed 8lbs 13oz, 21 inches and fit perfectly with all the inserts that comes with the seat. Driving on bumpy roads my son wouldn't bounce and it wouldn't jerk him around...he was able to sit with his head upright and not feel a thing, VERY SECURE AND COZY! Now he weighs over 20lbs and 26 inches long and still fits great but we are looking for a new seat now.
The seat says it goes to 35-40lbs but it doesn't have the shoulder room and the seat strap does not extend long enough for a baby that size. With the weight of this seat + my son it would be too heavy to get him in and out of the car at that weight any way, so we wouldn't have a need for a carrier any longer.
This was the only seat we used for our son and I loved it...a bit heavier that others I looked at but totally worth it. All other seats we looked at just didn't compare, far as safety and comfort. The fabric is soft, all other seats we seen were rough, the only seat with side air pockets to protect the baby's head, other brands that started to imitate it were all hard and pointless. A little pricey but does come with all the inserts so you won't have to buy them separately. JUST A GREAT SEAT..I DEFIANTLY RECOMMEND IT!!!

Ease to install and ease to get in and out of the car. It is a little bit big but it is lighter than other smaller car.

With my 6th child, I opted for a combined car seat and stroller combination for the versatility.
My son was taken home from the hospital in this seat and we've used it several times since. I am impressed with this seat for several reasons.
1. Ease and versatility of installation. Seat base locked into the exsiting shoulder strap system in the mini-van with no hassle.
2. Adjustable base angle was an outstanding feature.
3. Placing and removing the seat from the base was a DREAM.... No fighting to get the seat out and potentially shaking the baby awake!.
4. Padding: Exceptional forethought for premies and newborns, extra removalable padding for head and hip support. THIS was a very desirable feature.
5. One of my favorite feature: an adjustable strap that allows you to tighten or loosen the shoulder straps as needed with little effort: this comes in handy as they grow and as the seasons / weather changes the amount of clothing your child wears at a given time changes.
6. Installation angle indicator: shows correct safe install angle for a given seat position.
7. Easy shoulder strap adjustment. Loops slip on and off without extreme effort to change shoulder slots.
8. Excellent documentation. Just make sure you take the time to read it...
9. Significant padding and air cushion support.
Overall you can't go wrong with this unit. I would suggest you consider the stroller seat combo, and investing the extra $35.00 for a spare base if you have two cars. One other suggestion, get a seat pad, about $20 bucks...it will minimize seat cushion "sink" and the potential for staining your seats.
